Gatesites is free software provided by Noahlot, a sole proprietorship run by Noah Camacho in Kansas City, Missouri. Installing it means accepting what is on this page.
What you are getting
A browser extension, at no charge, with no account and no subscription. You may install it on as many machines as you like, for yourself or for people you are responsible for. You may not sell it, or distribute a modified copy under a name that suggests Noahlot published it.
No warranty
Gatesites is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.
It is not a safety system
This matters more than the usual boilerplate, so it is stated plainly. A browser extension is one layer, and a defeatable one. It cannot prevent its own removal, it covers a single browser on a single profile, and its category lists are not exhaustive. Do not rely on it as the only thing standing between a child and harmful material, or as a clinical or therapeutic measure for a compulsion. Use it alongside filtering at the network level and, where the stakes warrant it, alongside a person.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Noahlot is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, time, earnings or opportunity, arising from the use of or inability to use Gatesites. This includes a site being blocked that you needed, and a site not being blocked that you did not want reached.
The password
Neither the password nor the recovery code leaves your computer, and no copy is held by Noahlot. If both are lost, nobody can restore access. Removing the extension is the only remedy, and it deletes your rules with it. Do not contact Noahlot expecting a reset, because none is technically possible.
Support and changes
Support is best effort by email, from one person. Gatesites may change, gain features, lose features or stop being updated, without notice. This page and the privacy notice change when the software does, and the date below is the record of when.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
